Current Opportunities
- Answer incoming calls live and route them to Family Support Specialists (FSS) who
work remotely - Create and enter client intakes accurately and efficiently
- Provide warm, respectful customer service to families seeking guidance
- Maintain a professional, collaborative working relationship with our onsite bookkeeper
- Order materials, merchandise, and supplies from partner vendors
- Conduct required quarterly surveys with families who have received TASK services (for
federal and state grant reporting) - Maintain confidentiality and uphold TASK’s mission, values, and commitment to family
empowerment - This is a solitary, quiet position — no hustle, bustle, or constant foot traffic
- You must be comfortable working independently for long stretches of time
- You must also be able to work respectfully alongside one other onsite staff member
- The emotional tone of calls can vary; families often reach out during stressful moments
- Your ability to stay calm, patient, and compassionate is essential
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
- Strong communication skills with a warm, empathetic approach
- Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Knowledge of Excel and other data manipulation programs
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- Comfort working independently in a quiet office environment
- Lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a child with a disability
- Familiarity with special education, IEPs, or disability-related services
- Experience in customer service, nonprofit work, or education settings
- Provide information, training, and support to help families understand and navigate the special education system with their school district, access disability-related programs and services, and connect with community-based resources.
- Provide individual telephone support and conduct individual IEP consultations.
- Conduct special education workshops relating to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

TASK is inviting applications for an Office Receptionist position based in our Brea office, under the supervision of TASK’s Project Director, Region 2. We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and highly organized professional to serve as the first point of contact for families — many of whom reach out during moments of fear, crisis, or uncertainty about their child’s education. This fully onsite role requires a calm, steady presence and the ability to work independently in a quiet, low-traffic office environment.
